The primates once included the plesiadapiformes in its order, however recently the plesiadapiformes have been placed in there own order (Fleagle, 1999). Fleagle (1999) also places the dermopterans (flying lemurs), chiropterans (bats), scadentians (tree-shrews) along with the primates and plesiadapiformes in a superorder called Archonta. |
